About SmartPath:

SmartPath helps parents navigate their children’s home education journey. We empower parents with curriculum building tools, backoffice support, and expert guidance to make homeschooling more manageable, effective, and tailored to each child's unique educational journey.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain our homeschool education curriculum building platform
• Ensure the platform is scalable, reliable, and easy to use
• Work closely with the founders to design and build follow-on products
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship for junior engineers
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with direct customer interaction for technical support
• You’ll have extreme ownership over your work, move quickly, and operate with high agency

• Strong understanding of security infrastructure and devops management best practices

Qualifications:

• Homeschooling and educational choice should resonate with you
• 5+ years of experience as a Fullstack engineer. Ideally in a fast paced startup environment (pre-Series B)
• Strong understanding of web development technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and at least one modern frontend framework; React framework such as Next.js preferred
• Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases. More important than anything is knowing when to use either
• Experience with getting up and running in the cloud, this could be AWS, GCP, Azure, or even Heroku. We aren’t exactly opinionated on this front, but you should be codifying it in Terraform, CDK, or Pulumi.

• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You will be working closely with founders and play a pivotal role in building out the engineering org. As we grow, there will be opportunities to expand your role with the company.
